Maybelline Color Show by Colorama Review

Hey Beauties

Its Friday and the Sun has made an appearance. Yay! I have just dusted off the BBQ for dinner this evening and my sister has text me to invite me to a bbq at hers tomorrow. Thats two BBQs in one weekend and I hope not the only two this Summer! Keep the sun coming please 🙏

I was just popping in to my local Asda on Tuesday evening to pick up one thing. As always I can never just pick up that one thing, pay and leave. No, I have to have a good look around (mainly clothing and healthy and beauty areas). I had seen these Maybelline Color Show polishes on superdrug or Boots website over the weekend. I was sort of window shopping whilst the hubby was watching the Tour of Italy(yawn!).
I was glad I didn't buy any because they were on offer for £2 each in Asda. Normally priced at £2.99. Whilst I was tempted to pick up every colour they had because of the price, I controlled myself and picked out one Pink colour polish and a Clear Pink Glitter to use as a top coat.

One coat without the Sugar Crystals

One coat with Sugar Crystals On Ring
                             Finger

The Pink is a lovely Fushia colour called 6 Bubblicious and the Glitter is a sheer shimmery pale pink with very fine silver glitter pieces called 46 Sugar Crystals. It's a smooth finish and looks amazing layered over Bubblicious. The more I look at Sugar Crystals on my nail in natural light, the more I think I can see gold in it too. Whatever is in it it looks pretty :)

Bubblicious only needed one coat and dried fast. I'm very impressed and will definitely go and pick up some more colours from the range whilst they are £2 each.

I also think bottles are a much better design to the previous Colorama polishes Maybelline released. They are now cylinder shaped making it easier to hold the lid during application, you get 7ml or product and they come in a whole range of colours.

I definitely think you should pick one or more up next time you are shopping :)

BarryM Nail Series - White and Black Nail Art Pens

Hey Beauties

I trust you are well and had a great bank holiday weekend?
I had a great long weekend relaxing, shopping, eating out etc... and I managed to get some DIY stuff done around the house too :)

As you know, I bought a couple of the Nail Art Pens from BarryM when they were first released. I finally got around to trying them out ready for the long weekend and I really like them, they are easy to use and don't apply too thick so it dries quickly. The shape of the nib makes it easy to create designs with thick and thin lines, dots and filling in.
I decided to have a quick play around and do something different on each finger and I ended up with an Aztec design, heart, dots, an attempt at camo and with just glitter on another. My designs are far from perfect because of drawing off of the top of my head, without a pic for guidance(hence the bad camo job) but I don't think they turned out too badly :)

Once again BarryM impressed me and I'm happy with my purchase :)

Have you used the BarryM Nail Pens, if so what did you think?

BarryM Nail Series - Gelly Hi Shine Grapefruit Nail Polish

Hey Beauties!

How has your week been so far?
I am on holiday(from working not an actual holiday) from Wednesday afternoon, for 5 days for my Hubby's birthday. I'm excited to have some days out and get a few (boring) jobs done around the house too!!

Today's product is the Gelly Hi Shine Grapefruit GNP 8 no 316.
This is a vibrant Pink, perfect for Summer. It applies beautifully and if you apply it thick enough, you only need one coat :)
Drying time was about 2-3 minutes for touch dry and about 30 mins before I felt I could do anything around the house, button up clothing without smudging etc...
I apologise if i sound like a broken record with the Gelly NP's, but I love them so much. I really haven't got a negative thing to say about them.

I'm dying to getting my hands on the new summer colours for the Gelly Range and I need the pink sequin effect in my life ASAP!

Superdrug currently have a 3 for 2 deal on all cosmetics, so go stock up before it finishes :)

House of Holland Nail Polish Gift Set

Hi Beauties

Its the freakin weekend! Hope you have some great plans and enjoy yours :)

I was in Boots in January(seems like only yesterday and yet its now May!) and I came across a Nail Polish gift set by House of Holland. The moment i saw it i knew i had to have it, not only does it have a really cool tartan nail file "Bag Some Males With Banging Nails" but the polishes themselves are shaped like houses! Very cute, I know :) and it was a bargain because it had more than half  the original price off. I ended up paying £5 I think.
The set includes a Red with a very slight shimmer too it, a two tone Purple and a Petrol? Blue/Green.
I couldn't find any names for each polish in case you were wondering why I haven't mentioned them!

 House of Holland Gift Set

The red applied really well, it applies a bit like a jelly formula and reminds me of my Ciate Mistress Paint Pot. My picture shows it with only one coat and I have to say, I am very impressed with the quality.

The Purple needs two coats at least it was very thin so needed building up, the brush was also a bit bent and made it a little awkward to apply :)

The Greeny Blue, was a thick creamy formula that applies beautifully, takes a bit longer to dry than the red and purple but other than that, perfect!

I really like this gift set and hope they release some more for Christmas 2013!

Have you got any House of Holland Beauty products?

Avon Naturals Daily Hair Refresher - Review!

Hi Beauties

How are you today?

I bought this from Avon a few months ago and hadn't gotten around to using it until a couple of weeks ago. I like to leave 2 days in between each hair wash, as I don't suffer with greasy hair or particularly dry hair its fine to leave it and even some times 3 days. I also don't tend to use a lot of product on my hair as its usually in a messy bun or left down in a slightly soft waves/tousled look. My hair has a natural wave to it, so I do like to straighten it when going out and only then will i use product to style with or if i curl my hair which, is hardly ever at the moment! So because I can leave my hair 2/3 days in between I occasionally get sucked into buying a refresher spray. Just to freshen it up with a pretty scent on day 2. The scent is Cherry Blossom and its very sweet and girly. I actually suffer headaches with Strong scents, sweet and sickly scents or too many scents mixed in (i avoid lush like the plague and only order online a few at a time!). I have to use this sparingly for that reason because it is very sweet but its so beautiful and my hair smells so good when i use it that I cannot not use it. Its a 150ml bottle so you get quite a lot for a small cost, i think i paid £1.50 but i'm not sure if that was on offer or not! I have to say i am always impressed with Avon's hair care, price and quality of the products!
If you love a pretty, sweet, floral scent I recommend trying this or one similar to freshen up your hair after work or if you leave it a couple of days between washes.

If you have any tips for refreshing your hair, i would love to hear them :)

Muji Storage - Acrylic 5 Draw Box

Hi Beauties!

What a shock that our lovely sunshine has been replaced by rain! I hope you are all having a good week even if the weather is miserable.

Today is a review of the Muji Acrylic 5 Draw Box. I decide to order one after seeing various tweets or blog posts etc... mentioning them and I loved how sleek and simple they are and yet stylish at the same time. I went with the 5 draw which, you can view here  it cost £24.95 plus delivery. (I also bought a very boring Jewellery insert tray).

Sorry for the bad pictures, i couldn't get a decent one because of the glare from the light etc... and it was too dark without the light!!

Its definitely worth the money because i have yet to see a similar version/copy for less than £19 on ebay or amazon and that's not including delivery. The quality is really good, as was the Muji service. I received various emails during the processing and shipping stage which took about 5 days(including the bank holiday) as well as a follow up to say it was out with the courier on a 24hr service. It arrived in a big box with lots of packaging. I honestly feel like i have had my moneys worth in product and service. I'm very excited to start filling it with my daily makeup and faves over the weekend.

Have you bought any Muji storage? What are your favourite pieces?

BarryM Nail Series - BarryM Gelly Hi Shine NP Dragon Fruit

Hi Beauties

How is your weekend going so far? I hope you have been able to enjoy the lovely weather today! :)

Today's product is the BarryM Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in shade Dragon Fruit GNP 11.

This is a very pretty pink and the colour makes me think of summer, candy and barbie! As i always say i love me a pretty pink polish and this one doesn't disappoint.
I applied two coats as the first wasn't quite opaque and left it a couple of minutes to dry. I love how shiny the Gelly NP's are, how long lasting they are and the amazing quality for the cheap price.
Once it was dry I decided to add a black tip to make it a bit more funky! It's not neat and perfect (I quickly swiped across the tip with a normal black polish in a rush) but I still love the look and finish!
The Gelly Polishes are fast becoming my favourite NP ever and I'm very happy to hear they have released some more colours ready for Summer.

Superdrug currently have a 3 for 2 off on selected BarryM which, includes all nail polish :)

Have a great weekend.
