Maybelline Color Show Brocades Nail Polish in Knitted Gold

I was recently in Superdrug browsing the beauty section when I noticed they have the 3 for 2 deal on at the moment. I wanted a Maybelline 24hr Tattoo and so decided to buy one and a collection concealer and for my free item I picked up the new brocades effect by Maybelline, called Knitted Gold. A lot of brands have released a Rose Gold glitter this Autumn and this brocade one was my favourite, closely followed by BarryM. I carried on browsing and ended up picking up another baby lips and a top coat meaning, I was able to buy the BarryM rose gold glitter. Yeah I know, I only bought the other two items to give me an excuse to get both of the polishes for free ! :)

The Brocades Knitted Gold is a beautiful cloudy polish with tiny pieces of gold glitter and big hexagonal chunks of Rose Rose Gold glitter mixed in. I was expecting it up be fairly clear with a few flex of glitter when applied. So I applied BarryM Red Black first and layered this on top. It's actually quit a thick coating so it created a beautiful gold finish with a dark red tinge to it and chunks of gold glitter sat on top.

I'm very pleased with the finish and it screams christmas to me. There's only six weeks to go which means it's perfectly fine to feel Christmassy now :)

Excited to try this over a pink and also green. I think it will look incredible over both.

Now I just need to resist the urge to pick up the Essie Rose Gold next time I'm shopping.

Have you picked up a Rose Gold Polish, if so which one?

Breast Cancer Awareness Nails

This charity is one I always support because my mum has had Breast Cancer twice. The first time she had a lumpectomy followed by radiotherapy and two years of drugs. I was in my early teens and can't really remember much about it as she hid how she felt really well when we were home from school and were around her. It came back 16 years later in the same Breast so she had to have a single mastectomy followed by 6 months of chemo. After a long and tough year for her in Feb this year, she was signed off and given an appointment every 6 months. You never get the all clear with breast cancer, you are always in remission. But getting to go every 6 months and then eventually 12 months meant she was doing well and everyone could breath :)
In April she started treatment and had an operation for pre-cancerous cells in her womb. She has 5 years before they will give her the sign off for this. This apparently could of been linked to a drug she was put on the first time she was treated. (I'm not saying what it is because it's not proven and I honestly have no idea if it did or not, it's just a "could of been").
It is very important to check for lumps or any signs of change in your breasts. You can learn how to check yourself or book in with a nurse if you are unsure. Its important for all woman and especially those with a family history of it.

October is Awareness month for breast cancer. You may of noticed all the pink ribbon merchandise in shops or noticed the "I like it" statuses on Facebook. Some friends might of changed their cover photo to the pink ribbon logo. These are all started by private message, telling you to show your support. Another way is to paint your little finger nail pink, nail art etc...

I decided on nail art and also using pink as the main colour. I used a BarryM Baby Pink Polish for all but my ring finger which, I painted with BarryM Black. I then painted a ribbon on my little finger using Gosh Flamingo. Once they were dry I added a coat of BarryM Pink Iridescent.

I love how they turned out and even though black isn't the first colour you would think of for breast cancer nails, I really love it as an accent nail.

Have you painted your little finger pink?

Soap and Glory Dr Spot Clearing Gel - Review

I had a break out on my chin a couple of weeks ago, Yes, I wanted to stay in bed and not face the world until I was sure this flashing beacon of a spot had vamoosed! But that was not possible so I decided I would try out a spot gel or cream instead of hoping it would clear up quickly on its own. After perusing the shelves at boots, reading various product descriptions, I decided to pick up the Soap and Glory Dr Spot. I love Soap and Glory products and thought why not try one of their treatment products too?

Its a 15ml Tube and advises you use a sun protection product, during and after(1 week) using the spot gel because it contains AHAs which can increase photo-sensitivity. They mean sunburn not crying at a dodgy photo of yourself,  a friend just uploaded on facebook!!
So after applying sun cream, I applied a dab of the product to the area and left it to dry before doing my makeup. It felt quite nice on my skin and didn't sting or dry in a crusty layer that your makeup is drawn to like a magnet! I used it twice a day for three days and it was gone leaving only a slight pink looking patch where it was on the 2nd day and this cleared by the 3rd day.

I'm quite happy with this product, I haven't used other brands to compare it to but I doubt I will try another as this worked for me.

You can buy this from Boots here

Models Own - Velvet Goth Absinthe

I took advantage of the boots buy one get one half price deal last week. I picked three of the Velvet Goth collection and three of the Firework collection.
Absinthe was the colour I was most looking forward to wearing once it arrived.

It's a beautiful glittery green, it makes me think of Dorothy from The wizard of Oz' ruby slippers (the sparkle that is, not the colour). The first thing I said to my husband when I was sat applying it was "It's like the emerald city meets dorothys' slippers, if that makes sense?" He gave me a look like I was crazy and carried on watching his cycling programme. Yeah, he's not likely to be interested in my nails or Ruby slippers really is he? :)

I was really impressed by the application. I was expecting to have to layer on lots of coats but I almost got away with just one. It's thick and has a green polish with green fine glitter and bigger glitter pieces mixed in so one coat will be enough if you apply a thick layer. I finished with a clear 2x gloss top coat.

Models Own polishes are £5 each but are on offer at Boots if you buy one you get one half price. The offer is online and in store.

Autumn Nails - Ciate Cabaret

I love Autumn, it is my favourite time of year. Mainly because of the clothes and wrapping up warm. All the accessories that come with Autumn/Winter like Hats, Scarfs and Gloves make me very happy!
It may also have something to do with my birthday being in the Autumn :)
Anyway, as soon as September rolled around I switched out my favourite Summer polishes for my favourite Autumn polishes. My first Autumn mani/pedi of the year is Ciate Cabaret.

This is a lovely Plumy/Purple colour, I love this colour and keep looking at my nails and smiling becauseits finally   Autumn (yep, I'm weird!!) This colour really is beautiful and I love Ciate nail polishes because they apply really well, they are smooth, dry quickly and are long lasting.

I'm looking forward to picking my next Autumn colour :(

BarryM Greenberry with Ciate Snow Globe Nails

I hadn't painted my nails for three weeks until the other day. After painting them a couple of times a week, sometimes more, for a long time I thought my nails could benefit from a break. It was hard because I love having painted nails and I'm always buying nail polish that I want to try out. I think I did good lasting three weeks :)

First Coat of Ciate Snow Globe

With two coats of Ciate Snow Globe

I used BarryMs' Greenberry first, this is my favourite colour from their Gelly range.  After applying two coats I let them dry for a few minutes before applying a coat of Ciate Snow Globe. I absolutely adore Ciate polishes. Not only are the bottles cute with their little bows but I find the brush easy to grip and apply with. The polishes themselves have never disappointed me!
I fancied a bit of sparkle which is why I chose Snow Glove to use over the top. It's a Cloudy polish with chunky hologram foil pieces in silver, pink and blue. I had to apply two coats to get a decent layer of the pieces but it dries clear, so it doesn't look too thick or cloud the colour underneath.
I really love this combo, its perfect for ending the summer before I dig out the more autumnal colours.

What was your favourite Summer Nail colour/combo?

Superdrug - Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser - Review

Hey Guys

I bought this Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser a few months ago and after losing it to a mound of unused products for a couple of months I finally rescued it and have been using it for about 3 weeks now.

Hot Cloth Cleanser

                                      Box Contents

Back of the product

A lot of people rave about the Liz Earl Hot Cloth Cleanser which, I was very tempted to buy but I don't like to spend a lot of money on a product/brand I have never tried before so prefer to try the cheaper brands first and if I like them I feel better about investing in a more expensive brand. After seeing a few reviews for this Superdrug Hot Cloth Cleanser I decided to pick one up. I'm glad I did because I'm very impressed with it, it smells really good, feels silky when you apply and using the hot Muslim cloth to polish it off, leaves your skin feeling amazing and so smooth and soft!
I have noticed my skin looks clearer and has a lovely glow after using. I'm very happy with this product so I won't be buying the Liz Earl, no point spending more money on the same when you're happy with the one you have!

This is available from Superdrug stores and online and you can find it here it is currently on offer for £4.99 instead of the usual £5.99.

Let me know if you use a Hot Cloth Cleanser :)

Im Back!

Hey!

I am back to blogging after a short break, I have had a hectic few weeks, some personal stuff going on, my brothers wedding, home decorating to name a few.

I hope you have been enjoying our great summer weather? I have to admit I loved everyday but was relieved to have a few days of cooler temps lately.

I have had a few shopping trips so will post what I bought with a review over the next couple of weeks.

I will share this cute lantern I bought from Hobbycraft with you today though, I bought two to use as a makeup brush holder and a hair brush holder. They has a cute heart cut out and are about 6 inches tall so perfect for storage. I currently use the ELF single brush holder which did me just fine but is too small now I have a few extra brushes.

I'm spending the rest of today writing posts and taking pictures so hopefully I will have a few posts up soon :)

Don't forget to checkout my Mac RiRiWoo Lipstick giveaway which you can find Here

Haul Mac, Illamasqua, eBay...

I hope you are having a good week so far?

I did a few what I call "mini hauls" which are from one shop where I only bought a few things at the start of summer. I didn't have much time the past few months and my posting was few and far between and posts like these helped me to post something without taking too much time :)

Today I have another mini haul but with a few shops I bought from.
I love Haul posts and usually end up with a shopping list by the end of reading/watching a few :)

I won't go into detail on here because I plan to review a few of the items soon.

My first picture is my order from Illamasqua

I chose two cream blushes, pink raindrops and aurora gleam. I have high hopes for these beauties!

Superdrug

Rimmel Salon Pro x 2 and Kate x1
Plus revlon Nail art duos.

eBay

This Multi-colour skull bracelet was only 99p with free delivery!!

eBay

99p - cheap and very cute!

Bank

£10 in the sale - this is a loose fit long vest and I wish I got the size down because it really is loose fit. The peace sign is two tone and looks gorgeous when the light hits it.

Bank skull prong socks £3 I think. Love these!

Next
Makeup Bag £7. I bought this to keep all of my samples sachets in.

Ebay

I bought these from ebay too. Sadly one was missing the drop crystal. They were 99p and the seller refunded me. I plan to remove the drop crystal from the other and wear them like that rather than bin them.

Mac

NW20 Studio Fix Fluid and a Small Fix + Fluid. Sadly the foundation wasn't like it was when I used to use it a couple of years ago so I ended up selling it.

That's my lot for today :) I'm off to do some decorating now, boo!!  Have a great day.

Soap and Glory - The Scrub of your Life Review

Hey Beauties

I hope you are well?

I have a review for you today.

In March I was browsing in boots, hoping to find a body scrub product perfect for getting my skin ready for Summer.
I looked through the various products from Soap and Glory and decided to give The Scrub of your Life a go.
It's a pink tube with a flip lid, that you squeeze to get the product out. I prefer products in packaging like this because I find it very difficult to unscrew a lid on a pot or bottle when I'm in the shower with wet hands! I usually end up dropping it once its undone and losing some of the product or dropping it a few times trying to undo it and giving up!
Tubes work much better and I also find you don't waste product.

It's like a paste with pink beads in to scrub away the dead skin, leaving you with smooth, glowing skin. It also claims to be very good for dry knees and elbows and I have to say, i have noticed an improvement with my elbows (I get dry skin and a rash from some washing powders, change in seasons etc... Which, is always worse in the Summer). Touch wood but so far since using this I haven't had my usual flare up.
It also has that lovely slightly similar scent to Coco Mademoiselle perfume making it a perfect product for me.
I use this 2/3 times a week if I fake tan or 1/2 normally.
It costs £7 for 200ml in Boots but is always on a 3 for 2 deal :)

Do you use Soap and Glory products?

Love From Misbehave Review

Hi Beauties

About two months ago I found Allie from Love From Misbehave on twitter and checked out her online shop. I was amazed at how many cool, pretty, cute and bang on trend items there was to choose from.
She sells Jewellery and Tee Shirts. The Tee shirts I haven't bought one of yet but they are really cool with logos inspired by famous brands/quotes/phrases etc... Definitely worth a look if you fancy something different and well, awesome!

The jewellery is amazing. I have ordered a few times now and have always been pleased with the service/communication and quick delivery.

Allie also uses her Instagram and twitter to chat and tweet as well as showing pictures of new stock and favourite items in "real life" so you can see how big and fabulous they are.

My latest order was a beautiful necklace called The Fish Necklace £4 and Champagne Breakout Earrings £3.

I was so excited to receive these and I wasn't wrong about The Fish Necklace being beautiful! It is stunning, I'm so glad I picked it. It looks pretty on the picture but up close its even better.

It has a pearl gem stone in the head and sparkle on some of the bones, with a long gold chain. I already know this will be my most worn necklace this summer.

The earrings, are just over an inch long and have pretty champagne rhinestones inside that have a slight pinky tint to them when they catch the light. Very pretty!

If you haven't checked out
http://www.lovefrommisbehave.com/ yet I highly recommend you do!

Haul - Bomb Cosmetics

Hi Beauties

How are you? The Sun is back, yay!!, I hope I haven't just jinx it and it now rains for the rest of the week!

Last week I placed an order with Bomb Cosmetics. I saw a tweet from their twitter account saying their free gift deal had one day left and as I had been eyeing up a lot of pretty things I thought I would take advantage of a great deal.
You had to spend £30 to get a free gift which, I knew I would reach because of all the products I wanted.

I ordered 8 bath blasters, 1 massage bar and a Tea Cup Candle.

It arrived in a fairly big pink box with bomb cosmetics printed on the top so I was very happy to see my postman that morning. I just hope he realised it was the delivery that made me grin from ear to ear and not him! ;)

When I opened the box, a beautiful fruity smell and rainbow coloured loose fill greeted me. Very pretty indeed, and I don't know why but I did a little dance and clapped with glee like a little girl at Christmas, when she opens up her first dress up set! I guess it's because everywhere else uses black shredded paper or bubble wrap with the occasional coloured tissue paper?

My Bomb Cosmetics Parcel.

A Rainbow Surprise!

Anyway, all items arrived intact, the blasters are bigger than I thought which, is even better and the Teacup Candle is too cute and smells delicious. It will sit pretty in my kitchen! I went with the Raspberry Leaf Herbal. It has a tiny heart on the edge of the candle, sat in a White Teacup and Saucer.
The massage bar I am looking forward to using! It melts to body temperature so you can rub the oils into your body to help with aching muscles and it contains cocoa butter and eucalyptus to soften skin. Sounds heavenly!

I'm sure you know what the bath blasters are for?

 What I Bought

           Close up

    Free Gift

    Inside the free gift box

      Under the top layer

Close up of free gift box contents.

As you can see the free gift alone is amazing!! Two soaps, two large blasters and a small blaster.

I am really looking forward to using everything and will be posting a review of each item as I use them.

1D - One Direction- Harry Styles Nail Art

One Direction Nail Art - Harry Styles!!

Hey Beauties

As you know I am addicted to nail polish and I love playing around and trying out nail art designs.
Last night I couldn't sleep because it was so warm and so I decided to get some inspiration for new designs.
There is so much that inspires me but I thought I would start with a music inspired mani.

I'm not a fan of one direction as such, I will sing along too their songs and love how much success they have after The X Factor. It's great that a British band is loved worldwide!

As Harry Styles is so popular I thought I would give him a go ;)
I didn't want him on every nail, I thought it would look much better with one of him and a few little hearts, kisses etc...

I haven't tidied the edges up yet as I'm scared of smudging Harry!

I'm very pleased with how it turned out, first time no fixing or starting over!

If you want to have a go this is what you will need.

                                                                   Products Used.
Fine Detail Nail Art Brush (available in a set of nail art brushes from ebay prices from 99p from China up to £3 UK sellers)

White (BarryM White) - For Painting two coats on each finger.
Red Ciate Mistress) - For using with the fine detail nail art brush to paint on The 1D, lips and heart.
Black (MeMeMe) - For the lovely Harry Styles (start with a circle of pink/peach polish for his face) & To write his name.
Brown (Nails Inc) - For Harry's Hair
Red Glitter (BarryM Red Glitter)- Layer over the heart.
Clear top coat to finish, I used Boots 17.

When drawing harry you need to dab on a circle of a flesh tone polish for his face, then outline with the black polish and nail art brush. Add the mouth, eyes, eyebrows and nose. Draw in the outline of his hair and jacket(almost a diamond shape). Fill in his jacket and draw a skinny tie in the middle. Using a tiny bit of brown polish full in his hair.
Leave then to dry for at least 3 minutes before adding the topcoat.

Are you a One Direction fan? What do you think of my nail art? Let me know in the comments :)

Best Hair Conditioner Ever! - John Frieda Liquid Shine Illuminating Conditioner

Hey Beauties

I have been using this conditioner for about a month now. I LOVE it!! Not only does it smell really, really good but it leaves my hair feeling so soft and smooth. I have really noticed a difference in my hair since using it.
My hair has a slight wave too it and can feel quite dry sometimes. I think from too much hair dye and the use of hair dryers/straighteners/curlers etc...
I am always after a conditioner that leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth with a healthy looking shine. This ticks all the boxes for me. It says to use after using the shampoo that goes with this range but I am currently finishing up a different shampoo. You apply like a normal conditioner and fully rinse out.

Sorry for the bad picture, it was hard to take a good one because the packaging reflects the light.

Description on the back of product:
"Illuminating formula with a shine-infusing complex and moisturisers rehydrate as it showers hair in pure radiance for a long lasting, high-gloss brunette. Non-Colour depositing"

My hair feel amazing using this conditioner, I will definitely re-purchase when this runs out.

It comes in a 250ml tube and costs around £5, you can usually pick up 3 for 2 on John Frieda in boots or sometimes 3 for £10.

MUA Runway Pout Paints

Hey Beauties

What a beautiful day it was today! i hope you have had a great day and got to enjoy some of it? I find I get more done when the weather is sunny and hot! Sunshine always makes the day so much better :)

I have been wearing a pout paint from MUA everyday for about a week now, I love it so much.
I chose Runway because I loved the look of the packaging colour. I like a red lip, orange/peach lips and even more so if its a red with a slightly orange tint to it. When I applied it, it sadly wasn't quite what I thought it would be but I love the colour all the same. Its more of a cherry colour and reminds me of the BarryM lip crayon in cherry but without the sparkle(a fave of mine).

It feels so smooth on and really moisturising which is important because there is nothing worse than having the moisture sucked from your lips (sounds a bit rude 🙊) by a product. The product applies like lipstick and lasted a couple of hours before leaving a tint/stain that was quite pretty and still felt moisturised hours later. I have never liked the feel when using lip stains because they are so drying and I just don't think it looks good. These pout paints are so much better! Its like two looks from one application (if you don't do a touch up) :)

These are £3 each, available from Superdrug in store and online and MUA.

Ombré Nails - Blues/Greens - Primark Nail Polish

Hey Beauties.

I hope you are well? Thank god its half way through the week and the weekend is only two days away! I haven't had the greatest week so far and I'm really looking forward to relaxing at the weekend :)
I recently picked up a nail polish set from Primark. It was £2 for four polishes, you get a royal blue, powder blue, Aqua and a blue glitter. Too be honest I wasn't expecting much from them because of how cheap they are but was pleasantly surprised. The brush is good but could be a little bit wider and the polish itself is pretty decent. It applied well, no streaks and only needs two coats.

I decided to try an ombré look using all three colours and a bit of the glitter over the top to finish.
For my first attempt I don't think I did too badly.

I used a makeup sponge to apply the two colours after painting each nail once to start with.

I really like them and think I will try an ombré look with some pinks and peaches n the near future :)

Mini Haul, Primark and Superdrug

Hey Beauties

I trust you are all well and enjoying this lovely weather we have been having? I had to go to the dentist on Monday for a filling, boo!! and went shopping after to cheer myself up yay!! :)
I didn't do much shopping as it was late afternoon by the time I got there but did get a few things and thought I would share them with you.
Monday was a really beautiful day, the sun was shinning and it really makes a difference to people's attitudes. Everyone, well almost everyone smiles for a start! I grabbed myself an iced tea and headed straight for Primark.
My local is not that big, there isn't really much to get excited about and i actually prefer to go to a bigger store about 20+ miles away for a proper shop, where I tend to go a bit cray cray. Anyway, I did pick up a lovely boxy jumper with stripes and a studded neck line for £9. The material is kind of stretchy feeling and its slouchy when on. The sleeve is 3/4 and it feels so comfortable and cool to wear, I love it! Have I ever told you I have a love affair with studs? I make a bee line for anything if I spot a stud from a distance! I also picked up a pair of £1 wayfarer style sunglasses in black and a set of 4 blue nail polishes for £2. I love primark, i love that you can walk out with sunglasses, a jumper and four nail polishes for just over a tenner!

Next I went to Superdrug because I had seen a few mentions on twitter that MUA had released some new Blush Shades. Whilst I was in there I picked up about 9 or 10 new shape nail polishes and four of the new colour blushes. I also picked up boring everyday things like cotton pads and shower gel.

I also went into pound land for a nose around a bought a box of nail charms which I didn't take a picture of because I'm forgetful like that!!

I love quick little shopping trips where you spend less than £30 and come home with lots of new things to try.

Maybelline Color Show by Colorama Review

Hey Beauties

Its Friday and the Sun has made an appearance. Yay! I have just dusted off the BBQ for dinner this evening and my sister has text me to invite me to a bbq at hers tomorrow. Thats two BBQs in one weekend and I hope not the only two this Summer! Keep the sun coming please 🙏

I was just popping in to my local Asda on Tuesday evening to pick up one thing. As always I can never just pick up that one thing, pay and leave. No, I have to have a good look around (mainly clothing and healthy and beauty areas). I had seen these Maybelline Color Show polishes on superdrug or Boots website over the weekend. I was sort of window shopping whilst the hubby was watching the Tour of Italy(yawn!).
I was glad I didn't buy any because they were on offer for £2 each in Asda. Normally priced at £2.99. Whilst I was tempted to pick up every colour they had because of the price, I controlled myself and picked out one Pink colour polish and a Clear Pink Glitter to use as a top coat.

One coat without the Sugar Crystals

One coat with Sugar Crystals On Ring
                             Finger

The Pink is a lovely Fushia colour called 6 Bubblicious and the Glitter is a sheer shimmery pale pink with very fine silver glitter pieces called 46 Sugar Crystals. It's a smooth finish and looks amazing layered over Bubblicious. The more I look at Sugar Crystals on my nail in natural light, the more I think I can see gold in it too. Whatever is in it it looks pretty :)

Bubblicious only needed one coat and dried fast. I'm very impressed and will definitely go and pick up some more colours from the range whilst they are £2 each.

I also think bottles are a much better design to the previous Colorama polishes Maybelline released. They are now cylinder shaped making it easier to hold the lid during application, you get 7ml or product and they come in a whole range of colours.

I definitely think you should pick one or more up next time you are shopping :)
